Horse racing & greyhounds
Racing is a long way from the rink, yet it shares one habit with hockey: prices move before the start. Its money rules are its own, which is why it has a section apart.
Going each-way places two equal bets, one for the win and one for a place, so the outlay is double the stake named. Rule 4 deductions, non-runners, ante-post prices and the starting price round out the vocabulary, with tips for horses and greyhounds alongside.
Tax treats racing separately. General Betting Duty for remote betting becomes 25% on 1 April 2027, yet remote bets on UK horse racing remain at 15%, and pool betting has a duty of its own.
